General Hydraulics has been servicing the Australian drilling industry for over twenty years always striving to help customers minimise down time, maintain and improve reliability. Our focus is to provide you the customer with quality timely repairs and replacement components, be it new, reconditioned or exchange..

Our service

General Hydraulics repair and supply all brands of hydraulic components for the drilling industry, our service also includes full overhaul of rotation heads, gearboxes, winches, rod handling equipment, ancillary equipment and manufacture. We carry an extensive range of used parts, if importers don’t have stock or the parts are obsolete we can usually help, we also import direct from the United States, have manufactured or manufacture parts ourselves to keep the customer working.

Our facilities

A strong focus on keeping all repair work in house ensures that we can provide fast turnaround services of emergency component repairs with an understanding of the cost to customers when the rig is not working. With a fully equipped machine shop, surface grinding, precision lapping equipment and fabrication shop time is not lost having out source repairs. All components are fully tested before leaving the workshop either on our motor and valve test bench or our 450hp digitally controlled hydrostatic drive test bench for pumps and larger motors.

Breakdown service

When a breakdown occurs with drillers idle waiting for a technician to arrive many shifts can be lost therefore we will endeavour to fault find your rig over the phone. Our technicians know drill rigs and we have a comprehensive range of hydraulic circuits and manuals that enable us to help trace the problem.

Replacement parts

Pumps, motors, valves, if we don’t have it we can get it. We keep in stock a large range of components and parts that we know to be high turnover or that poor stock levels are held by the importer, we can also identify and source alternate replacements promptly.

Technical services

Our knowledge of hydraulics and drill rigs is at your service. If you need to improve the performance, reliability or operation of you rig we can examine your requirements and offer alternate components or modification to achieve those improvements.

The future

General Hydraulics has and continues to employ apprentices so that our skills and knowledge continues to be passed on. This also ensures a continuity of the standards required by our customers. All our staff is encouraged to seek further training for self development and to keep abreast of the latest technological advances.
